About Marilyn

My entire career has been in Information Technology, both in large and small companies. In every situation, the most enjoyable part was being able to provide customer service and training to the staff. In the early 1990’s when personal computers and online access started to become the norm I left the corporate world and started supporting small groups and businesses with training on personal computers and outlining and creating their very first web sites.

In the late 1990’s my family relocated to Europe where I continued to teach and helped empower dependents from the Department’s of Defense and State with classes designed to keep their job skills current while OCONUS. Today, back in the USA, I continue to provide training and help small businesses, non-profits, youth oriented groups and individuals establish and maintain their Internet presence.

I hold a degree in Web Development and am a Microsoft Certified Trainer. I currently teach classes in the Greater Seattle area for beginner and intermediate level users in senior centers, adult continuing education programs, small businesses, and privately. Classes offered include the Windows Operating System (Vista and Windows 7), Microsoft Office Suites (2007 and 2010), the Internet, email, computer terminology and web and graphic design using the Adobe suites. Several of my training and web design projects have been funded in part by grants from The City of Seattle and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

My goal is to empower as many people as possible with the skills necessary to keep up with the Internet and technology.
